
Is a founding owner and Co-President of McArthur Homes, Inc. His current direct responsibilities include the Finance, Accounting, Land Acquisition.
Dave has been involved in the new homes building industry since 1976 when he began building new homes with a small general contractor in Southern California. In 1984 he graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Business Management, finance concentration. After graduation Dave joined the banking industry, where he spent 9 years primarily in acquisition, development and construction lending to large builders in California, Nevada, and Arizona.
Dave is active in industry and political organizations. He is a past President of the Salt Lake Home Builders Association (2000) and the Utah State Home Builders Association (2004). He is involved in his church and youth groups and volunteers regularly at The Road Home, a homeless service organization.
He and his lovely wife, Laura, have been happily married since 1981. Dave & Laura enjoy visiting new places particularly warm places, skiing, hiking, and Lake Powell. They have 4 children and one grandchild. To really relax, Dave enjoys fishing, riding his Harley, and reading.
Oversees the administrative functions of the company's general business and construction office efforts including product development, estimating, purchasing, and information technology, and directs the marketing efforts of McArthur Homes.
After graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors from BYU, his proficiency in Japanese allowed him to gain valuable product marketing experience while working for Yokogawa Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. He was responsible for North American product development, and support for all international sales offices. When transferred to the US headquarters as Product Marketing Manager, his responsibilities expanded to include new product introductions, sales training and management of 140 sales representatives for his product line.
In 1996 Ron earned his MBA from Brigham Young University, and in 1999 was honored as the first recipient in Utah of the prestigious MIRM designation as a Member of the Institute of Residential Marketing by the National Association of Home Builders. He has served as president of the Sales and Marketing Council of the Utah State Home Builders Association. He is a certified instructor for the Department of Real Estate for Continuing Education courses and regularly teaches the NAHB's course "Certified New Home Specialist". He holds a B-100 General Contractor's license.
He enjoys a wonderful marriage of over 20 years and his five children. Together the family loves vacations to Lake Powell and anywhere else warm and wet.
Brings to McArthur Homes forty yeas of administrative experience in the real estate development and savings bank industries. As president of Provident Capital Corporation and CEO of Financial Scene, Inc., real estate venture capital companies, from 1974 through 1986 he directed joint ventures which built over ten thousand homes in California and Arizona. In 1982 he helped organize Rancho Bernardo Savings Bank, serving as its first Board Chairman and President.
Don is a graduate of Pepperdine University and also is the recipient of a certificate of Graduation from the University of Washington's School of Executive Development.
Don's civic involvement includes nine years on the Escondido Union High School District Board of Trustees and five years on the Executive Board of the San Diego County Council, Boy Scouts of America. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Utah Home Builders Association, and the Greater Salt Lake Home Builders Association.
From 1989 to 1992 he served as president of the Salt Lake City Mission and in 2002 was called as president of the Hawaii Kona Temple for the LDS Church.
He has been on the Professional Advisory Committee for the Salt Lake Community College construction program.
He began his construction experience in 1985 with a commercial remodel, and has since worked as a framing and finish carpenter, superintendent for major new home subdivisions and custom new home builder. His talent in designing new homes and communities is invaluable in working with architects and planners to produce plans which both appeal to the public and are cost effective to build.
Steve also graduated in 1984 from BYU's Marriot School of Management with a Finance emphasis. He worked for California First Bank in its commercial lending program before launching his construction career. In 1988 he founded McArthur Building Co., building custom new homes in San Diego County.
