Spring Cleaning: Easy Window Cleaning Solution
Thu, 26 Apr 2012 by Allen, Kristi
We have been meaning to clean the windows of our new home in Utah for awhile now. To be honest, I was intimidated by the task and considered paying someone to do the job for me. I priced it out and found that the cost would be over $200. Yikes! I don't know about you, but I would much rather spend that money on fun decor than having something cleaned.
Lucky for me, I found a great solution on Pinterest (oh how I love you, Pinterest). Just mix up this simple solution (I even had all the ingredients at home already), then scrub on your windows and spray off with the hose. No squeegie required. My windows dried to a spot free shine! Cost: $0 plus about an hour and a half of time.
Window Cleaning Solution:
1/2 Bottle of "Jet Dry"
4 Tablespoons Alcohol
1/4 Cup Ammonia (I used our generic brand ammonia window cleaner, not sure if it has other ingredients too, but it worked great!)
1 handful powdered dish-washer soap
2 Gallons Hot Water
I also used the solution to lightly scrub the window screens and then rinsed those with the hose too. Ours were DIRTY!
Now our windows are beautifully clean and we can finally enjoy our view again! If you have been putting off cleaning the windows of your new home in Utah, do it now! It makes such a big difference and with this easy solution, it is practically free.

Happy Spring Cleaning!
